Create events and invite attendees on the web, and sync your calendar to the phone’s own calendar app over CalDAV.

Open Calendar in the sidebar. The page has Month, Week and Day views, a Today button, and an Upcoming list. The iPhone and Android apps have a Calendar screen with a month grid.

Create an event#

  1. Select New Event.
  2. Enter a Title.
  3. Set the Start date, End date and times, or turn on All day.
  4. Optionally add a Location, Description, Color, Repeat and Reminder.
  5. Under Attendees, type an address and select Add. Repeat for each person.
  6. Select Create Event.

To change an event, open it, choose edit, then Save Changes. You can also delete it.

Invitations#

When you create an event with attendees, SipherMail sends each attendee an invitation by email, using standard calendar invitations that other calendar apps understand.

Changes and cancellations may not reach attendees automatically. If you change the time of an event with guests, let them know yourself.

Events from your mail#

Message cards for events and trips have an Add to calendar button, and an option to download an .ics file for any other calendar app. See Message intents.

Sync with your phone’s calendar app#

Your calendar can appear in the calendar app that comes with your phone using CalDAV.

  1. Add a new CalDAV account in your phone’s calendar or account settings.
  2. Use mail.siphermail.com as the server.
  3. Sign in with your SipherMail address and an app password.

Settings > Mail Clients shows the exact CalDAV address to enter, with a copy button.
