When a message contains a verification code, an order or a parcel update, SipherMail adds a chip to its row in the inbox and a card inside the message. Detection runs on SipherMail’s servers when mail arrives. Nothing is sent to a tracking service.
On the web these are available now. On iPhone and Android they arrive with app version 1.6 or later.
What you will see#
| Type | Inbox chip | Card in the message |
|---|---|---|
| Verification code | Copy code with the digits. Select it to copy. | Copy code, a countdown, and Delete email. |
| Order | View order, plus a status chip such as shipped or delivered. | Copy order number and View order. |
| Parcel | Track package, with the arrival date when it is known. | Copy tracking number and Track package. |
Codes expire after 15 minutes. After that the chip leaves the inbox row and the card in the message shows Expired.
Events, trips and bills get the same treatment. Event and trip cards offer Add to calendar, and bills offer Remind me.
Each card ends with "Based on this email" and two buttons, Correct and Wrong, so you can tell SipherMail when it guessed badly.
Notifications#
If Include verification codes in notifications is on, a new-code notification reads "Verification code" followed by the digits, so your phone can offer the code from the keyboard.
Settings#
On the web, open Settings > Mail and find Summary cards:
- Verification codes, Orders and deliveries, Events and travel and Bills switch each type on or off.
- Show chips and "Happening soon" in the inbox list controls the chips on message rows.
- Include verification codes in notifications.
- Delete verification-code emails after 24 h moves old code emails to Trash. It is off by default.
On iPhone and Android the same options are in the Summary cards section of Settings, plus Copy codes automatically.
