Open Contacts in the sidebar on the web, or the Contacts screen in the iPhone and Android apps. Your contacts are kept on the SipherMail mail server, so they can also sync to other apps, see Third-party mail apps.
Add and edit#
- Select the plus button at the top of the contact list.
- Fill in Display Name (required). You can also add first and last name, company, job title, department, email addresses, phone numbers, addresses, website, birthday and notes.
- Turn on VIP Contact if you want to flag the person.
- Save.
To change a contact, select it in the list and use the edit button. Delete Contact is at the bottom of the contact’s details and asks you to confirm.
Find and filter#
Type in Search contacts... to filter the list. The buttons under it narrow the list to All, VIP, Blocked or Archived. The groups button opens Contact groups.
From a contact’s details, Compose Email opens a new message addressed to them.
Address suggestions#
When you type in the To field of the composer, SipherMail suggests matching addresses from the start of the name or address you type. Select a suggestion to add it.
VIP#
VIP is a flag you set per contact. VIP contacts show a badge and have their own filter in the list.
Import and export#
Contacts can be imported from CSV and vCard (.vcf) files, including exports from Gmail, Outlook and Apple Contacts. They can be exported as CSV or vCard.
