Use the offboarding wizard when someone leaves. Open Org Panel > Team members, choose the member, then Offboard. It needs the User admin role or higher.
Choose what happens to the mailbox#

| Archive | The mailbox is kept but disabled in the app for the number of days you choose, then deleted |
| Transfer | The mailbox becomes a shared inbox for the member you pick |
| Delete | The account, its mail and its aliases are removed |
Delete is refused for a member covered by a legal hold. An archived mailbox under a hold is kept until the hold is released.
What always happens#
- The member is signed out everywhere and their app passwords are removed.
- Their seat is freed.
- The action is recorded in the audit log, without any message content.
What does not happen#
SipherMail does not forward new mail to another address after offboarding. If you need that, move the address to a shared mailbox first.
