Your AI data and deletion

See what Sipher AI stores, how long each kind is kept before nightly deletion, and delete all of it yourself on the web.

Sipher AI keeps some data to work: chat history, summaries, memories and similar items. Settings > Privacy & AI on the web shows what is kept and for how long, and lets you delete all of it. These two cards are on the web only.

How long AI data is kept#

The How long AI data is kept card lists each kind of data with its retention period. Older items are deleted automatically every night.

KindWhat it is
Chat historyYour conversations with Sipher AI.
SummariesThread summaries and reply suggestions.
Extracted detailsDates, follow-ups and other details found in mail.
Label learningExamples used to suggest labels.
MemoriesThings Sipher AI remembered about you. See Memories.
Prompts and answersRaw AI requests and replies. The card shows these as not stored.

The card may list further kinds of data. The periods can change, so read them on the card rather than here. A period of "until you delete it" means the item stays until you remove it. Credit and usage records are kept for accounting. They are counts only and hold no message text.

Delete my AI data#

  1. Open Settings > Privacy & AI.
  2. Find the Delete my AI data card. It tells you how many stored items will be deleted, or that none are stored.
  3. Select Delete my AI data.
  4. Confirm in the Delete all your AI data? window.

This permanently removes your Sipher AI chats, memories, summaries, extracted details, label learning and AI search data. It cannot be undone.

What it does not touch:

  • Your mail, folders, labels and rules.
  • Credit and billing records.

You can delete your AI data even while privacy mode is on. Deleting is limited to a few attempts in ten minutes. If it fails, wait and try again.

After you delete#

Using Sipher AI again starts to build new data. To stop that, switch to Privacy First, which turns off all Sipher AI features. See AI and privacy.
