Calendar sharing and working hours

Share your calendar with someone on SipherMail at the access level you choose, and set the working hours and privacy others see.

On the web, open Calendar and select Calendars in the toolbar. The Calendars window has three lists: My calendars, Shared with me, and Team calendars if your organisation shares any with you. It also has the Working hours and privacy button.

Share a calendar#

  1. In My calendars, select Share beside the calendar.
  2. Enter the person’s email address. They need a SipherMail account.
  3. Choose Access.
  4. Select Share calendar.
AccessWhat the person can do
Free/busy onlySee when you are busy. No titles or details.
Can view detailsSee titles, places, guests and notes.
Can editAlso add events to this calendar and change the ones they added.
Can manageAlso change who the calendar is shared with.

The People with access list in the same window lets you change someone’s access or stop sharing with them. Only people you add can see the calendar. Your organisation’s admins cannot see it unless you share it with them.

Calendars shared with you#

Under Shared with me, each calendar shows who owns it and your access level. You can choose which shared calendars appear, change the colour used for one, or remove it from your list.

Working hours and privacy#

Select Working hours and privacy to open Calendar settings.

  1. Choose your Time zone.
  2. Pick your Working days.
  3. Set Start of day and End of day. The end must be after the start.
  4. Decide whether Show my busy times to my organization is on, then select Save settings.

With that switch on, people in your organisation can see when you are busy, never titles or details. Turn it off to hide your busy times from them. People you have shared a calendar with still see what that share allows.

Your working hours are used by the scheduling assistant to avoid suggesting times outside your day.
